Event content

Diversity orientation is part of the University of Göttingen’s mission statement for teaching and learning. Have you ever wondered what this means in practical terms? Then this workshop might be for you.
This two-part workshop provides university instructors with research-backed strategies and resources to foster inclusive and equitable learning settings. We will look into core concepts, communication, teaching methods, curriculum design and institutional constraints as well as self-reflection. Participants will also reflect on challenges and opportunities in their own teaching contexts and develop ideas for small, actionable steps to enhance the learning experience of the whole class.
The structure is as follows: Workshop 1 will lay the ground. The following practical phase will allow participants to observe and reflect on the role of diversity in their own teaching context. Workshop 2 will focus on ideas for implementation.
The workshop is aimed at interested beginners who are open to reflecting on their own learning journeys and their role as instructors.
