To be trauma-informed in the context of higher education means to understand the widespread prevalence and impact of various form of adversity and violence on individuals, families, and communities and to use that understanding to develop educational policies and practices that reduce the risk of retraumatization and promote learning and growth. During this online training, participants will learn about different types of trauma and their impact on both students and educators. We will also explore strategies to recognize and respond to our own and others’ stress to enhance learning and well-being using a trauma-informed framework.
